1、 PVC artificial leather industry definition

Artificial leather is a kind of plastic product that looks like leather and feels like leather and can be used instead of it. It is usually made of fabric as the substrate, coated with synthetic resin and added with various plastics. Due to different synthetic resins, different types of substrates, different production processes, different foams and different uses, artificial leather can be divided into many types. The Analysis Report on the Production and Marketing Demand and Investment Opportunities of China's Artificial Leather and Synthetic Leather Industry from 2015 to 2020 released by the Prospective Industry Research Institute shows that there are two important trends in the development of China's PVC artificial leather industry: (1) PVC artificial leather is gradually replaced by high-end PU synthetic leather; (2) PVC artificial leather products are developing towards high-end. These two trends will lead to a slowdown or even decline in the demand for PVC artificial leather. The forward-looking industry research institute predicts that the demand for PVC artificial leather in China will grow slowly in the next five years. It is estimated that the demand for PVC artificial leather in China will be about 2.45 billion square meters in 2020.

In the short term, because the production cost of PVC artificial leather and PU synthetic leather is low, the production technology and production process are relatively simple, which can meet the needs of people with low consumption level. Especially in some countries where people's consumption level is low and their purchasing power is limited, there is a large demand for products made of PVC artificial leather. However, with the progress of science and technology and the provision of people's living standards, countries have been concerned about the destruction of the earth's ecological environment, human health and sustainable economic development. Without innovation, PVC artificial leather industry will inevitably be eliminated. However, some advanced enterprises producing PVC artificial leather have begun to transform into high-end products.
